My newborn kittens, that were born three days ago, are panting. I guess when I go and touch them, they get scared and start to pant like dogs. What does this mean and is it okay? Should I bring them to the vet?

theyre not panting….being that theyre newborn and cant see thats their way of hissing at u because they are being touched and they arent used to it and dont kno whats touching them…as they get used to be handled that will quit and they will enjoy your touch…good luck with the babies
Zachary
i agree. they not use to your touch. give them time…good luck

They are stressed. They need to be left alone, you shouldn’t touch them till they start moving around and their eyes are starting to open. Leave them be, you are messing with them and you shouldn’t - now you know this it is cruelty to continue.

No.It’s nothing to worry about. All newborn kittens pant.I would be worried if they didn’t pant. Also, don’t touch them.As a result, this could cause your cat to be aggresive, and dislike people when they are older. They also really don’t like when you touch them.Give them a little more time to get used to being in your house, and when the are older and there eyes are open, the panting should stop.
